As a tool to keep McLaughlin Run free of debris and the water channel open, fully funded by a grant from the State and County, a unique access ramp has been constructed on Jane Way right before the Bower Hill Road Bridge in the area behind the Beer Warehouse.  The new ramp has a special flood door that can be removed by Public Works crews to drive equipment right into the creek to remove debris and maintain the stream.  Also, part of this project is the installation of a backflow preventer device on the storm sewer outfall pipe to prevent the stream from backing up the catch basins in the street.
