The Route 50/Chartiers Creek Bridge Widening and Intersection Improvement Project (SR 50, A28) is located along the border of South Fayette Township and Bridgeville Borough, Allegheny County. The project limits extend from the intersection of SR 0050 (Millers Run Road) and SR 3003 (Washington Pike), to just north of the intersection of SR 0050 (Washington Pike) and Chartiers Street/Church Street. The project also extends to the I-79 Northbound On-Ramp (Ramp E) for possible improvements. The project includes the bridge along SR 0050 (Washington Pike) that spans over Chartiers Creek.

The scope of work will involve the replacement of the superstructure and the abutment widening of the Chartiers Creek Bridge and the widening of SR 0050 and SR 3034 (Chartiers Street) to reduce existing congestion, queuing and better accommodate existing and projected future traffic.

Construction for this project is slated to begin in the summer of 2020. As part of PENNDOT’s public involvement process we have attached a PowerPoint presentation to learn more about the project. Please contact Zac Kamnikar, P.E., Project Manager, at 412.429.5038 or via email at zakamnikar@pa.gov if you have any questions or concerns.
